Hi.

I’m Edna Levanon Segal.

My work in mosaic grew from my background in architectural and graphic design, where I developed a strong foundation in structure, balance, and visual rhythm.

I am drawn to mosaic for its inherent duality – fragmentation and cohesion coexisting simultaneously.

Influenced by feminist thoughts and artists who challenge established narratives, I explore themes of gender, identity, and empowerment.

Each tessera – whether glass, ceramic, or stone, carries its own presence, yet finds deeper meaning within the whole. This process mirrors the complexities of lived experience: resilience formed through fracture, strength emerging from vulnerability.

Through layered compositions and intricate patterns, I create visual narratives that celebrate women’s voices, confront inequality, and reclaim marginalized stories.

My practice is an act of assembly and affirmation, transforming fragments into unified forms that speak of endurance, visibility, and transformation.
